CIVIL SURVEYING SITE DEVELOPMENT ENVIRONMENTAL ELECTRICAL MECHANICAL
Project Description
Hoophole Creek is a residential community constructed primarily in the 1970’s and 1980’s with the street system running down the center of a peninsula with no positive drainage.
After years of significant storms and hurricanes, the community reached out to the Town of Atlantic Beach to alleviate the flooding problems which often would have 18” to 24” of standing water on the street with only one way in and one way out. After involving the regulatory community, an option was determined to collect the drainage through a conventional gravity collection network and then pump the runoff to a weir located on private property through a public/private agreement and overland into Bogue Sound after final treatment in a vegetative filter.
