Civil Project Engineer
Mr. Tuten was first introduced to Land Surveying while still in high school. The combination of technology and outdoors instantly piqued his interest as a profession to pursue. He started his surveying career as a rodman with Stroud Engineering in 1994. Mr. Tuten has since worked on a multitude of projects becoming proficient in boundary surveys, topographic surveys, construction staking, as-built surveys, and hydrographic surveys.
It was during this time Mr. Tuten became fascinated in the concepts of water and sewer design. This fascination would lead him into gaining a Civil Engineering degree from North Carolina State University. After graduation, Mr. Tuten was hired by NCDENR Public Water Supply Section, as an Environmental Engineer, to enforce Federal and State drinking water regulations and provided technical support to public water systems. Mr. Tuten rejoined the Stroud Engineering team in 2014 and obtained his Professional Engineer license in 2015. Although he specializes in funding, planning, design and construction of water and sewer infrastructure projects as a Civil Project Engineer, his dual licensure and experience in both fields has given him the ability to act as a liaison between our surveyors, civil designers and clients for a variety of projects.
