Project: Porter’s Neck Water System

Stroud Engineering recently completed design and permitting for upgrades to the Porter’s Neck Water System. The private water system provides service and now fire protection for 1100 customers of four communities. The project is currently completing the construction phase. Stroud’s responsibilities included:

• Fire Hydrant Design and Layout
• Hydraulic Modeling
• North Carolina Division of Public Health permitting for system expansion to include fire flow capability
• Design of Booster pump station upgrade
• Design of 27,000 gallon Hydro-pneumatic tank
• Design of connection piping and chlorination injection relocation
• New Hanover County Fire Marshal compliance
• Construction administration and inspection
• Construction staking
